ReadMe! (BeeLine & Focus) App Reviews

Why the change??

I used to love this app, then all of a sudden we were forced to pay a monthly subscription for a feature that used to be included in the initial app purchase. That feature? The ability to use the app while offline. So trying to read your book on an airplane etc. is a no-go. Horrible decision.

Charging for what used to be included in price

When I bought it you could download your books to use them offline. Now it requires a monthly fee to read your own books offline. Charging you to access things you already own. Just use the public library or the other apps for spritz. The UI and hassle with getting books onto the app were strikes against it, but this pricing change is the last straw. What else are they going to take away from a monthly fee?

Lastest version not working

Was a fantastic reader. Using iOS 9 Beta, all I get is a spinning wheel and blank screen. Even tried deleting all my books and re-installing App. Seem to be trying to sync or something. Went from 4 stars to 2 star. Hope Developer goes back to previous version without paid synch service.

I used to love this app

Seems to get crappier with every iteration. I used to be able to open the app and start reading, but now I have to find my book and open it every time. Offline cache used to be free but now they want to charge for it. Bait and switch is an evil and stupid business model. Why not offer something Id like to pay for, like the ability to change book covers, or bookshelves, or email quotes or recommendations to friends? Lazy, unimaginative developer deserves to watch his customers walk away.

Cannot read spritz offline anymore without a subscription

This was the only reason I purchased this before the sub was added. What a scam. Offline spritz ability is all I use this app for and now I have to pay AGAIN? Never..going..to..happen.. Fool me once shame on you, fool me twice... What other features are they going to remove from the app and add to the subscription I wonder. I have lost all faith in this product.

Read faster

This app with Spritz technology is exactly what I was looking for. A simple way to force myself to read faster. Have not had any issues so far.

BeeLine... Hmm, interesting.

I love spritz, Im impressed by BeeLine. Thanks for introducing it.

Very Good, Still Maturing

I recommend this great little reader and its always improving! PRO + increases and maintains reading speed with new twist on word flash technology + looks good on iPhone and iPad + easy to add books and rearrange library + love the background color and opacity options! + time left in chapter is a cool feature and lets me know when a break is coming up! CON - could handle inline book graphics (photos) better: Right now the graphics can be seen in the background page view but I suggest some additional options: return to page view when you come to a graphic or popup the graphic by itself and dismiss it with a touch (which would be my favorite) - orientation is handled strangely, takes a moment to rotate and changes position on page when it does

Spritz working its magic

I cant focus when i read, and i use spritz to read everything. Im thankful for this application. Even though there isnt a phone app that does this to web browsers, its still helping a lot. Thanks devs

Love it

Only concern with it is that load times can be slow. Slow To the point that pages will fail to load, however this is intermittent and fixed easily by flipping back a page. Overall great reader with lots of features including free Spritz compatibility.

Superb!!!

Thank you so much for this app!!!

Very happy with the app

Spritz access, as well as an easy way to get books on your phone without buying through iTunes are very nice. Definitely my preferred reading app

Spritz is spiffy!

This app is an excellent one for reading, though Ive only used it for Project Gutenberg books. The best thing the app has is the Spritz speed reading technology built right in. I am a voracious reader, and while most books I want to take my time with, I have a huge list of titles Ive been meaning to read - some rather large and a bit daunting (especially as I have developed attention problems due to medical issues). Ive taken a few speed reading courses in my life, and read several books on various techniques, to no avail. With Spritz, within literally five minutes, I was reading 350 words per minute! I usually keep it at 300 wpm (the app lets you easily get to and change the Spritz settings), and have gotten a few titles off that "must read someday" list - with excellent retention, and far less eye strain (you must go to Spritzs website to see how it works, it is genius, and REALLY WORKS!). The new update expands what you can read with Spritz, so I am delighted. Well worth the subscription to use it offline, if you read a lot. Ive got Burtons full translation of Thousand and One Nights, and an unabridged copy of the Hindu epic the Mahabharata (something like 15 times longer than the Iliad & Odyssey combined) - Im going to go zip through them using this great app and Spritz right now...

Disgusted!

In your review you touted your excellent reputation. Fine. Still, all I really wanted was a reader for ePub and PDFs formats. You had that. I could also download from a browser. Excellent! That was before trying your app. Inordinately slow to download. Need permission to do so. After 5 reads, I must subscribe. Something not mentioned in review. Needless to say, soon as I do this review, I will be deleting your app.

BeeLine reader still not working.

First off, spritz is great. I love how much strain it relieves while reading. But I appear to be a mid range reader. 200wpm is too slow but 250wpm is too fast. It would be nice to see a 225 option. I feel like that would be perfect. Also, this latest update seems to have messed up Bee Line Reader. If I switch over to it, the book formatting gets all crazy with random indents and paragraph breaks. Turning off Bee Line Reader fixes the problem. Not sure what happened as it worked fine before the update. Other than that I love this app. Even fixing Bee Line Reader would be a five star app for me if you never updated Spritz with more wpm options. Amended 3/23/2016: latest update claimed to fix beeline reader glitch. Well, yes. It no longer has random indents and page breaks when activated. However, now there is NO formatting. My entire book is one long paragraph. Makes it hard to tell different speakers apart. Pleased with how fast the update came after pointing it out, but the problem isnt fixed. If not fixed soon Ill take another star off. The reader is really just okay for me without beeline and without a spritz wpm setting that is useful to me.

Absolutely amazing!

Best iOS spritz and beeline implementation! Plus it supports PDF and ePub! Keep up the great work! Thank you!!!

Wow, this is amazing

Im now able to read at 350 to 400 wpm and comprehend much more than I was when skimming through paperbacks. Its an easy program and kind of makes you want to do something else with your hands since my iPad can be set up on-end (no-hands). Munching on fruit or popcorn was never easier while reading books until this program! So, plan a post-reading run or walk through the neighborhood because you may gain a few pounds while using this. LOVE IT!!

Just not good

All around not good. Look for some other app.

Reading fast!

This is an excellent reading app. The subscription price is fair. The synchronization service is very useful. I enjoy the Beeline and Spritz reader in particular. I cruised through a 1000 page book at 300-400 WPM like it was no big deal (I usually have to go back and reread portions where my mind began to wander). Absolutely amazing!

Fantastic

The app no longer works on my iPad mini 1.
