Great app but doesnt support poor quality books

This is a great app but doesnt support functionality for low quality ebooks and the last update broke that so Im wary of upgrading.

Responsive Devs

I had an issue with the app so I wrote the devs. They wrote back quick and fixed it in a few days. The app does what it says and it’s pretty easy to use. I wish there was a sync-able desktop version. Also, I wish deleting a book from my library was simpler than the weird burn-your-book animation interface.

Cant even open the app

So excited for spritz technology. Unfortunately this app wont even open in the new iOS and iPhone 6.

Official Spritz

Official Spritz tech which means you need Internet because for stupid reasons Spritz wont let them program it into the app. You have to transfer text to website and back again. Still it can cache this offline for reading without signal. Reading speed only moves on 50 wpm increments with no control over punctuation pauses. Reading faster than 450 wpm requires free Spritz account. All this is fine I guess if cumbersome. Big problem to me is the lack of search. If your chapters arent setup properly in your ePub you can spend a lot of time finding the place you want to read. This is a basic feature for any ebook.

Nice reading app

I like using this app and the spritz capabilities. Every once in a while, it will freeze and close, but works when I start it back up. Additionally, the spritz function often starts a chapter at a faster rate than it finishes, which is distracting and makes it difficult to find the right speed.

Good but needs improvement

I really enjoy using this reading app; however, there are several things that I have complained about to the authors of this app over and over. They keep promising to fix, but havent. First of all, the dictionary does not work! In addition there is no search function and every time I leave the book I have to go back to where I left off manually! The app does not even take me into the book I left. I have to scroll through the library to find the book I was reading. I wish this app could be just like the iBooks app with the spritz. Personally I dont know why they spent so much time developing the Metronome thing-I think its stupid! I will revisit this review if and when these improvements are made.

Beta-ish

Nothing but impressed with this app, Ive read two books faster than any Ive read before. Most surprising thing was that I found I retained more information reading this way. A great way to keep focused.

Excellent

This app is excellent. I have no complaints. My only suggestion for improvement would be for spritz to improve how the reader handles quotation marks. It is sometimes difficult to follow a dialogue at higher speeds

Trying to do this

Maybe Im not very tech savvy but I cannot figure out how to download a book to my iPhone, with this app through the Internet Archive resource they list. Right now there is one book in my bookshelf, the one that came standard with the app and Im would like to add more, but cant figure it out and no contact in the website nor app itself. Really cool app Im trying to use because theres so many books I want to read but cant figure it out.

Great way to read

I love zooming through books.

Exactly what I was looking for but needs improvement

I absolutely love this app soooo much! Its exactly what I was looking for and I have it on both my iPhone and iPad but I actually prefer using it on my iPhone because Im only reading the small spritz box so a lot of screen real estate is not being used on the iPad vs iPhone. I do have one annoying issue with this app though. Spritzing always starts out fine but as it gets closer and closer to the end of the chapter it becomes slower and slower, so when it buffers and loads the new chapter section the spritz speed shoots up dramatically! This sudden sharp difference causes me to loose some words at the start of a new section. Please fix this so its universally the same speed and this will be a 5 star app!

A step back over prior version

The last version of this app did what I needed it to: let me read my ePub books via Spritz. Technically thats still true, but by trying to add features things are decidedly clunkier. I now have to log in both to Spritz and now register with the app just to use a higher wpm. The screen dims after a time whereas it used to know not to. I get notifications about drm on my books though there isnt any. It all still works, but its more annoying and buggier than the last version. Avoid "upgrading" if you have a choice.

I (used to) swear by this app

Edit: I was so happy to hear that one of my favourite apps was getting the feature I wanted the most: reading position sync. However, a dollar a month subscription for such a basic feature? Definitely not worth it. I dont know why but Im incredibly fond of this app, maybe because the customer support is brilliant. There are some glitches, but its well worth the price. I hope they add iCloud bookmark/reading position syncing, though. It would be nice if they at least highlighted the chapter youre currently in, so it would be easier switching between devices. The only real complaint I have is with the spritz plugin. After some time of reading, after going to a new chapter, it slows down. The wpm number stays the same, but the speed is noticeably different. So I end up using 1000 wpm, even though the real speed is actually around 650. And after a few more chapters, the speed goes back to match the wpm. Other than than, amazing app!

Does what I need it to

Great reading app with easy-to-access online resources. Has a straightforward interface that allows for downloading the greatest works in human history quickly to a personal library for future offline reading.

I read so much more!

This app has helped me to read far more books than I ever did in the past. But there is one usability issue I wish theyd address: New books should be placed on the top shelf. It makes sense to assume that recently added books would be the ones youd want easy access to. Currently, if you have a large library, it takes a lot of scrolling to get to them. Other than that, it works really well and I definitely recommend it to anyone who wants to get more reading in.

Good, but...

This app is pretty good. I like the intuitive feel of the app. And, finding and adding books is fairly easy. However, sometimes as I am using Spritz within the app, I am suddenly skipped forward a page when it gets to a chapter break. Not a big deal (and it might even be fixed in a future update) but still inconvenient. Also, I wish I could read other document types (not just ePub). It is just a feature that I wish it had. This would allow me to open different document types from other apps and increase its usability! Other than those things, this is a pretty good app to read using Spritz.

Love this app, but....

This is one of my favorite apps. I transfer all of my books to ePub and then open them up in Readme! Unfortunately I just downloaded the new version and every time I go and try to change the reading spread, the App shuts down. This happens every time. Hopefully therell be an update to correct this bug ASAP.

Crash

I am also getting the crash when I attempt to change the speed. Sorry to say it, but this made the app instantly useless for me.

Reading speed problem

I also love this app, but this update crashes whenever I try to adjust the reading speed on the iPhone.

Best Spritz Reader so Far!

Unlike other Spritz apps that need you to pay something, all you need to do to access higher reading speeds is a Spritz account! Again: Best Spritz app ever.
